R.I.P.D. follows Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds), a Boston detective murdered by his corrupt partner. Instead of moving on to the afterlife, Nick is recruited into the Rest in Peace Department, an otherworldly police force tasked with hunting "Deados"—souls that refuse to leave Earth and manifest as grotesque monsters.
