This paper examines the downloadable content (DLC) expansion for Pokémon Scarlet , titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero . By analyzing the two-part release— The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk —this study explores how the expansions address the technical limitations of the base game, the narrative expansion of the "Paradox Pokémon" lore, and the implementation of new rendering technologies. The paper further discusses the implications of file format structures (specifically the NSP format) on game preservation and modding communities, contrasting the seamless open-world design of the base game with the zone-based architecture of the DLC areas.
