Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a charming, womanizing pharmaceutical salesman who thinks he has life figured out—sell drugs, make money, sleep with women. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway), a free-spirited artist who refuses to be tied down, partly because she is in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.
