Directed by Mohit Suri, Awarapan was ahead of its time. It moved away from the typical Bollywood "masala" tropes to deliver a gritty, neo-noir action drama. The film follows Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), a guilt-ridden hitman working for a gangster in Hong Kong.
