The story picks up shortly after the first film. Wuba, the cute radish-monster, is now living peacefully with his human parents, Song Tianyin (Jing Boran) and Huo Xiaolan (Bai Baihe). However, peace is short-lived. Wuba is targeted by the evil Monster King who wants to devour him to gain power.
The team soon discovers that the monsters are becoming increasingly aggressive and powerful due to a mysterious energy signature. They team up with a group of skilled hunters, including a grizzled veteran (Tony Jaa), to uncover the source of the energy signature and stop the monsters before they destroy humanity.
