Yet, the compression also destroys nuance. x265 artifacts—banding in the sky, macro-blocking in dark scenes—erase the subtle visual metaphors of the drama. The show famously uses long shots of the characters walking through fields; a compressed rip blurs the distance, turning a philosophical observation about isolation into a smudge of pixels. The "liberation" the characters seek is from the "unliberated" state of modern capitalism; ironically, the WEBRip is the ultimate product of digital capitalism—a file stripped of its physical weight, traded as data rather than felt as art.
