The film follows Matko Destanov, a small-time hustler living on the banks of the Danube. After a failed train robbery involving a shipment of oil, Matko finds himself deeply in debt to the flamboyant gangster Dadan Karambolo. To settle the debt, Dadan proposes a marriage between Matko’s son, Zare, and Dadan’s sister, Afrodita (famously nicknamed "Tiny" due to her height).
