Lucifer offers to heal Constantine’s cancer, but Constantine instead asks for Isabel to be released to heaven. Lucifer grants the wish, and as he drags Constantine down, a golden light pulls him upward—his selfless sacrifice has earned him salvation. Infuriated, Lucifer pulls Constantine back to life, curing his cancer, intending for him to eventually commit a sin that will guarantee his return to hell.
