No Saw film would be complete without a shocking conclusion, and Saw II delivers one of the best. The revelation that the events in the house were actually a recording, taking place before Matthews even arrived at the warehouse, was a masterstroke of editing. It recontextualizes the entire viewing experience and leaves the protagonist—and the audience—with a crushing sense of hopelessness.
