For so long, I wore a mask to hide my true self. I pretended to be someone I thought people would like, someone who was more likable, more palatable. But the more I wore that mask, the more I felt like I was suffocating. I was tired of pretending to be someone I wasn't. I was tired of living a life that wasn't authentic.
